In Cotia, under-17s beat Palmeiras at CFA Laudo Natel

On Tuesday (9), São Paulo’s U-17 team defeated Palmeiras 2-1 at CFA Laudo Natel, in Cotia (SP), in the 18th round of the Brazilian Championship. Brenno and Gabriel scored the goals in the win.

The São Paulo side came out sharp and opened the scoring just two minutes into the match. Luan made a run in behind and crossed for Brenno, who made no mistake and put Tricolor ahead. After the goal, João Soato began to shine. The Tricolor goalkeeper made three great saves, helping secure the positive result in the first half.

In the second half, the setup changed. Coach Alexandre Torrezan opted for a 3-5-2, strengthening the defense and midfield. In the 14th minute, Palmeiras equalized, and in the 16th, the opposing No. 5 was sent off after a hard foul on Luan. São Paulo took advantage of the extra man, and in the 23rd minute, Gabriel got on the end of a cross that traveled across the entire field from João Bispo and finished past the goalkeeper to put Tricolor back in front and seal the win in the Choque-Rei.With the result, Tricolor moved up to 27 points and will head into the final round of the first phase of the Brazilian Championship with a chance to qualify. Alexandre Torrezan’s team will face Grêmio away from home next Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Airton Ferreira da Silva, in Eldorado do Sul (RS). Before that, the team has one more match in the final round of the second phase of the Campeonato Paulista against Salto FC, this Saturday (26) at 11 a.m. at CFA Laudo Natel, in Cotia.
