In fact, a massive transfer war is expected next summer, especially in the case of the Crystal Palace star who has attracted interest from several top European clubs apart from Real Madrid as well.

The defender’s priority

As confirmed by Florian Plettenberg (h/t Madrid Zone) in a recent report, Guehi’s dream move is to join Real Madrid in the summer and it comes as no surprise given how he has even pushed his agent to initiate talks with the club in recent months.

All top Premier League clubs have him on their radar and see him as a top target to reinforce the defence, and the interest in him even extends to the offices of Bayern Munich in Germany and Barcelona in Spain.

Guehi, however, has no doubts that his priority is Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old defender’s current contract runs out at the end of the season and he has no plans of renewing it at the moment as he continues pushing for a departure.

Given that he will be leaving as a free agent, his situation will appeal to Real Madrid all the more given their affinity for the scheme in recent years.

So far this season, the Crystal Palace star has made seven starts for his club in the Premier League and completed 90 minutes in all of them.

He has overseen three clean sheets in that duration and averages over 14 defensive actions per game.
