With a total of 1,775 minutes under his belt this season, Konrad Laimer is taking the role of right-back and being a fans' favourite in his stride at Bayern Munich.
“I've always been convinced of the qualities I can bring to the team," said the 28-year-old in a recent interview with Austria's national broadcaster ORF.
"I'm simply the type of person who gives it his all and then sees what happens in the end, and who always gives his all in training and in matches.
“You never know where the journey will lead when you take such a step, but I've always known I can make my mark anywhere.
“The most important thing as a footballer is to be healthy and take care of your body, to always be ready to train and improve.
“I want to take the next steps; there's still plenty of time and room to improve. That's exactly the mindset I'm going into next year with,” he added.
Regarding his goals for the remainder of the season, Laimer didn't discuss titles with the German record champions. Instead, he touched on preparation and desire needed for 2026.
“Everything is always possible at FC Bayern, and of course you have that certain hunger, that certain attitude that you simply want to win everything.
But there's always room for improvement for us too; it's our strength that we always want to work on ourselves. When decisive matches come around in spring, we have to be the better team on the day," he said.
