The families of those lost in the Indonesia shipwreck said at the funeral that they stand together and will seek calm justice without hate or resentment. The dead included Valencia women's B coach Fernando Martín, his son and two of his wife's children, while Andrea Ortuño and her youngest daughter survived.

Álvaro Ortuño, Andrea's brother, delivered a joint statement before the service at San José Escrivá parish in Campanar, Valencia. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, he said the four families speak with one voice.

Hundreds attended, including government delegate Pilar Bernabé, Valencia mayor María José Catalá and consellers Juan Carlos Valderrama and Mª del Carmen Ortí. The families thanked individuals, groups, security forces and consular representatives in Labuan Bajo for support during harrowing days.

They showed special affection for Labuan Bajo's warmth and solidarity. Gratitude extended to all who joined the search, from rescue teams and volunteers to divers whose dedication they said they would never forget, with Álvaro adding the Indonesian phrase Terima kasih.

They thanked relatives and friends near and far, along with Valencian and Spanish society, for empathy and kindness. Appreciation extended to institutions and their leaders for responsibility and humanity, and to the media for sensitivity and care.

Álvaro ended by acknowledging immense pain alongside serenity and a pledge to seek quiet justice that honours the victims and helps the families move forward with dignity.
