Manchester United have set their sights on a move for Crystal Palace’s Tyrick Mitchell.

According to Football365, INEOS could ignite their pursuit as early as January in order to reinforce the full-back department at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Football Insider suggests a deal at the end of the campaign is more feasible, given Mitchell is out of contract next summer and Palace have no desire to facilitate his departure midway through the season.

The report adds that the 27-year-old, who’s previously earned two senior caps for England, would ‘find it hard’ to reject a proposal from United.

That may bode well for them in the 2027 summer window, too, as they are not the only Premier League club keen on adding him to their ranks.

Mitchell is in for yet another jam-packed term at Selhurst Park after the Eagles qualified for the Europa League following their UEFA Conference League triumph.

Last week, they got their UEL journey off to a dream start by overturning Lech Poznan 4-0 on matchday one.

In the meantime, Michael Carrick is having to make do with a depleted defensive line in M16.

Luke Shaw is the only out-and-out senior left-back in the squad after INEOS decided against signing any backup over the last few months.

Unsurprisingly, the 31-year-old has already suffered one injury setback this term, which saw him miss matches against Sabah (UCL), Manchester City (PL) and Brighton and Hove Albion (League Cup).

He returned for Sunday’s draw with Fulham, but it remains to be seen how Shaw will fare when club action resumes after the international break and fixtures are coming thick and fast across all competitions.
