FC Barcelona have had to deal with injury issues at every step of the way in the ongoing season, with Hansi Flick hardly being able to call upon a full-strength squad.
As things stand, the Catalans are without Fermin Lopez, Gavi, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Frenkie de Jong, and Ronald Araujo heading into tonight’s game vs Atletico Madrid.
De Jong is out with a fever and could return soon, while Araujo has requested time off to work on his mental health, with no return date set.
Gavi will not return until March next year, whereas Ter Stegen is also unlikely to play until 2026, even though he resumed training this week.
But there seems to be some positive development with Fermin and his potential return to action.
According to Marta Ramon of RAC1, there are good feelings surrounding the Barcelona midfielder and his recovery. As such, he could be fit and ready in time for the game against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December.

Fermin was sidelined with a soleus muscle injury right after the 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, with a recovery period of two weeks being specified.
The 22-year-old star’s injury came at an inopportune moment as he had been in good nick prior to his injury.
A two-week recovery meant that his comeback would take place just before the mid-season break, possibly against Osasuna or Villarreal.
However, it seems like Fermin could be back before that and be ready in time for Barcelona’s all-important UEFA Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Spotify Camp Nou.
It will be a welcome boost for manager Hansi Flick, considering the value that Fermin offers to the team, with his goals, intensity, and energy.
