Barcelona saw a long-standing club streak brought to a firm end at the hands of Chelsea on Tuesday evening.

This comes after the Blaugrana failed to find the net at Stamford Bridge.

Barca are of course fresh off an outing to forget last night.

After making the trip to west London to lock horns with Club World Cup holders Chelsea in a Champions League clash, Hansi Flick’s troops found themselves condemned to the wrong side of a 3-0 result.

As much has heavily dented the Spanish champions’ hopes of finishing amongst the competition’s top-8 in the league phase.

This means they are likely facing up to an unwanted playoff tie.

As alluded to above, though, this is not the only point of significance when it comes to Barcelona’s latest defeat.

In addition, as revealed by Diario AS, the Catalans saw a streak of 53 consecutive games with a goal scored ended by Chelsea.

Barca, prior to Tuesday, had not failed to find the net since a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Leganés all the way back in December of 2024.
