Barcelona star Raphinha continued to showcase his leadership qualities during the club’s showdown with Real Madrid on Sunday.

This came by way of his efforts to protect the under-fire Lamine Yamal.

Wide-man Lamine of course took his place centre stage in an ugly scene post-match this evening.

After Barcelona were condemned to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of arch rivals Real Madrid, the 18-year-old was targeted by several Blancos stars.

As much comes owing to the controversial comments laid out by Lamine regarding Real earlier this week.

After the likes of Dani Carvajal, Thibaut Courtois and Vinícius Jr. all made their frustration with the youngster known, a chaotic exchange involving both sets of players, staff and officials was sparked.

And as alluded to above, stepping in in an effort to defend Lamine in the midst of as much was attacking partner Raphinha.

Absent from the pitch at the Santiago Bernabéu owing to injury, wide-man Raphinha quickly made his way onto the grass following the full-time whistle.

The former Leeds United man was repeatedly seen stepping in between his young teammate and Real Madrid’s players, a true show of leadership and captaincy on Raphinha’s part:
