Raphinha will receive one more week of rest before returning to FC Barcelona, with the Brazilian scheduled to rejoin Hansi Flick’s squad on July 27.
The winger is expected to travel directly with the Blaugrana expedition to England, where Barca will begin an eight-day training camp and play Birmingham City in a preseason friendly on July 31.
According to AS, Raphinha’s return comes after a difficult World Cup experience that included a hamstring injury that he suffered against Haiti.
At the same time, he also found himself surrounded by chatter about a potential move to Saudi Arabia this summer.
However, the player and his camp have consistently maintained that his intention is to stay at Barcelona. After a season disrupted by injuries, Raphinha appears determined to remain part of Flick’s project and fight for an important role again.
His arrival in England should give Flick another senior forward to work with during a preseason heavily affected by World Cup absences.
Karim Adeyemi is also expected to be one of the main attractions of the camp following his move from Borussia Dortmund, which is yet to be made official, while Anthony Gordon will still have additional holiday time before reporting back.
Fermin Lopez is set to travel too, although he is not expected to feature in matches while continuing his recovery from a foot injury.
Barcelona are also waiting to see whether Joao Cancelo’s transfer can be completed in time for him to join the group.
The situation remains complicated because many of Barca’s World Cup players will not return until after the England camp.
Ronald Araujo is the main new arrival this week, although he is still managing the effects of a soleus problem that prevented him from playing for Uruguay.
Frenkie de Jong is also expected back, but his knee injury means his return to normal training remains uncertain.
For Barcelona, Raphinha’s comeback should provide some welcome stability. His future has generated plenty of noise, but his message has remained consistent.
Unless the market changes dramatically, the Brazilian plans to stay. Now the priority is getting fully fit, completing a strong preseason and reminding Flick why he remains one of Barca’s most valuable attacking players.
