Real Madrid have had to deal with a plethora of injury problems this season, a majority of which have occurred in the defensive department.

Apart from Alvaro Carreras and Fran Garcia, every other defender has gone through some or the other physical problem so far this term, leaving Xabi Alonso short-handed at the back at almost every step of the way.

With the team resuming training today following the mid-season break, there were no fresh fitness boosts for the Spanish capital club.

As reported already, Dani Carvajal is still training individually and is pushing to make it back in time for the Spanish Super Cup.

No return dates for Militao, Trent

Meanwhile, according to journalist Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, there is still no return date set for key Real Madrid duo Eder Militao and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Militao suffered a tear in the biceps femoris muscle of his left leg, with involvement of the proximal tendon, during the La Liga match against Celta Vigo. Initial reports suggested that the injury expected to sideline him for around four months.

But it has been since reported that the recovery time could be reduced to around two months or slightly more, offering optimistic news for the Brazilian’s return.

However, as things stand, there is still no return date set for the key centre-back.

As for Trent, he was sidelined for two months after picking up a fresh thigh injury during Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Athletic Club early in December.

Given that he has had an injury problem before as well, it is unlikely that Real Madrid will take any risks by rushing things. As such, there is no specific return date set for the summer arrival as he continues his recovery.
