Injuries stall Gorosabel and Adama loans at Espanyol and West Ham | OneFootball

Injuries have checked the progress of Gorosabel and Adama on loan at Espanyol and West Ham.

According to El Correo, only Adama has featured so far, and for just 13 minutes.

He has played more for Athletic this season, 20 minutes in the 2-0 defeat at Camp Nou on 27 August, five days before the Spanish and English windows shut.

Formed at Osasuna, Adama joined Athletic in January 2024 for two million euros on a deal to 2029. The 24-year-old left-back from Dakar is at a historic club relegated last season to the Championship, his first spell abroad, debuting on five September against Derby before muscular issues sidelined him from Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad.

Gorosabel has yet to debut. An adductor problem on day one of pre-season at Athletic shaped Edin Terzic’s decision, and a move only arrived on one September to Manolo González’s Espanyol. Once fit he must try to dislodge Omar El-Hilali from right-back.

Eder García has started six times for Córdoba in Segunda, scoring on debut and adding an assist. Team-mate Ibai Sanz has only 16 minutes.

Aingeru Olabarrieta is up to 212 minutes in three games for Eldense, the last two starts, while Elijah Gift has yet to feature for Eibar. Left-back Adrián Lekuna has played regularly for Arenas in Primera Federación despite a poor start.

Athletic also sold Agirrezabala, Unai Gómez and Izeta this summer for about 11 million euros, and all three are important for Racing, Udinese and Cádiz.
