Wrexham enter the January window in 11th in the Championship, four points off the play-offs after two festive wins at the Racecourse. Their rapid rise continues, with decisions looming over how to fuel a Premier League push.

According to Wales Online, recruitment is now run by a five-man committee set up to spend the owners’ money prudently. The owners are prepared to support Phil Parkinson with further funds, though January is expected to be about targeted additions rather than wholesale change.

Chief executive Michael Williamson leads the panel, bringing senior experience from major clubs including Inter Milan. He has told Parkinson he will not impose signings, while he defines the financial parameters for each deal.

Former EFL chief Shaun Harvey remains central to operations despite moving into a non-executive role. He works with the manager on what is achievable and handles much of the logistical work.

Les Reed contributes deep football expertise after successful years at Southampton. Despite a difficult stint managing Charlton long ago, he is regarded as influential in building the club’s current culture and success.

Comedy award winner Humphrey Ker also sits on the committee, reflecting the club’s unusual journey. He first introduced Rob Mac to football and now acts as a bridge between the board and the community.

Parkinson is the fifth member and retains the final say on signings. The system invites challenge and competing ideas, so major financial calls are never made in isolation.
