The opening day of the Paris trial into the home-jacking of Gianluigi Donnarumma and his partner unfolded in surreal scenes on Thursday afternoon. One of the alleged organisers repeatedly insulted and threatened police officers.

According to L'Équipe, proceedings were held in the 16th criminal chamber of the Paris judicial court, where Ilyas Kherbouch, known as "Ganito", arrived relaxed in a black sweatshirt. He was seated alongside Khyan Mamouni, nicknamed "Kiki".

Kherbouch and Mamouni are suspected of ordering the violent break-in suffered by the former PSG goalkeeper and his partner, Alessia, during the night of 21 to 22 July 2023 in Paris.

Alessia lost her baby a few days after the attack.

Police reinforcements were brought in.
