Inter Miami have signed academy graduate Daniel Sumalla to a first-team deal through the end of the 2026 MLS season, with options for the 2027 MLS Sprint Season and the 2027-28 and 2028-29 campaigns, the club said.
The 19-year-old defender has been included in matchday squads for three 2026 MLS regular season matches while on short-term loans from Inter Miami II.
Sumalla made his professional debut in May 2025, starting for Inter Miami II in an MLS NEXT Pro fixture against Philadelphia Union II. He went on to play in all 17 matches that year.
In 2026 he added 10 further appearances, starting each one. He becomes the 14th Inter Miami academy product to reach the first team.
Born in Miami, he moved to Catalonia at one year old and returned to the United States in 2018. After time with local clubs, he joined Inter Miami’s U-17s in 2024, progressed to the U-19s in 2025, then stepped up to Inter Miami II.
