Inter Miami are to visit the White House on 5 March to celebrate their first MLS championship, The Athletic reports. They clinched the title in December 2025 with a 3-1 win over Vancouver Whitecaps.

The Miami Herald said a source indicated the entire club would attend to meet President Donald Trump, which suggests Lionel Messi would be involved.

The event is scheduled two days before Inter Miami face DC United in Washington.

MLS champions have often been honoured at the White House, including Columbus Crew in September 2024 after their previous season triumph. LA Galaxy were not received last year, but were welcomed following their 2011, 2012 and 2014 titles.

Among those who met President Barack Obama in 2011 was David Beckham, then a Galaxy star and now a co-owner of Inter Miami.

Messi has never been received at the White House, despite being awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Joe Biden in January 2025. He missed that ceremony due to scheduling issues.
