Costacurta was the latest prominent football figure to slam Zwayer and his refereeing team.

“Inter was managing to secure the result,” he said. “But that penalty incident will change quite a bit regarding the refereeing landscape.”

It was yet another poor refereeing call that harmed Inter this season.

Yet, all other decisions came in Serie A, particularly in high-stakes fixtures against Napoli and Juventus.

Moreover, Inter found themselves on the losing side on both occasions.

Indeed, those unfortunate events contributed to Inter’s disappointing record against top-tier opponents.

Chivu’s men have already lost five such games.

In addition to Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, Napoli, and Juventus, they also lost to arch-rivals AC Milan last month.
