Nicolo Barella stood out for his ‘resourcefulness’ in last night’s blockbuster Serie A clash between Inter Milan and Lazio.
According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the 28-year-old was Inter’s best-performing midfielder yesterday.
It’s been a season of ups and downs for Barella so far, but the diminutive star shone against Lazio, nonetheless.
Indeed, his dynamic runs and commendable work rate helped Inter dominate the game, especially in the first half.
However, it’s fair to admit that his final touch often let him down.

Unlike Barella, Denzel Dumfries had a rough night at San Siro, picking up a silly yellow card at the start of the second half.
Furthermore, the Dutch wingback lacked his usual intensity and attacking threat, failing to make any difference on the right flank.
Therefore, it’s no wonder that Cristian Chivu took him off in the 56th minute, with Carlos Augusto taking his place.
However, the Brazilian defender was only a slight upgrade on the 29-year-old as he performed on his weaker right side.
