Inter Milan midfielder Piotr Zielinski praised new manager Cristian Chivu following a clinical 3-0 home win over Slavia Prague.
Interviewed by Sport.tv via FCInterNews, Zielinski hailed the 44-year-old’s methods.
Despite his limited experience in senior management, Cristian Chivu took charge of Inter Milan in June.
Indeed, he replaced Simone Inzaghi in the dugout after helping Parma avoid relegation from Serie A last season.
Furthermore, it was his first job in top-flight management.
Therefore, coaching a team in the Champions League represents a huge step up.
However, the Romanian coach has passed two early tests with flying colors.
After a comfortable 2-0 win at Ajax, his side tore Slavia Prague apart in a one-sided contest at San Siro last night.
Brimming with confidence after four consecutive wins, Inter will take on Serie A minnows Cremonese next.
Meanwhile, another direct last-16 qualification in the Champions League remains a distinct possibility after a superb start.
Piotr Zielinski, who made his first competitive start under Chivu yesterday, waxed lyrical about the ex-defender’s tactical approach.

“We knew Champions League games are never easy,” Zielinski said after the game. “Slavia is a tough opponent, but we approached it with the right mindset.
“We played a great match and showed our strength. We deserved the victory in front of our fans.”
When asked how he feels under the new manager, Zielinski replied: “I feel great.
“Coach Chivu is excellent and very strong tactically and mentally. I really enjoy training too.
“We’re working hard, having fun, and we’re happy with our fourth consecutive win. We want more.”
Zielinski’s words confirm he is the ultimate professional, considering he has been on the fringes this season.
However, the 31-year-old possesses the quality to climb up the pecking order.
Furthermore, he might have another chance to impress this weekend, when Inter Milan entertain Cagliari at home.
Meanwhile, he outlined Inter’s expectations ahead of the match.
“A win, of course,” Zielinski was adamant. “We’re Inter, we play at home, and there’s no other way.
“We need to win, head into the break with 12 points, and confidence that we’re strong.”
