Alessandro Bastoni and his family have been targeted with a wave of social media abuse following the controversial second yellow card shown to Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu in Inter Milan’s 3-2 Derby d’Italia victory.

Insults and threats ranged from “I hope your husband never leaves the stadium alive” to “May your husband live in fear for the rest of his life.”

Bastoni then celebrated the sending off, which further irritated Juventus fans, staff and players.

Bastoni’s wife, Camilla, also received messages directed at their children.

The couple responded by closing comments on their Instagram posts to protect their family.

While the incident on the pitch sparked debate, Inter insiders emphasize the player had no ill intent.

“Football has heated moments, but players shouldn’t face personal attacks,” a source noted.

The club condemned the harassment and reiterated its support for Bastoni and his family.
