Pio Esposito delivered once again for Inter Milan, scoring the decisive goal in a dramatic 3-2 win over Juventus in the Derby d’Italia.
The youngster’s strike marked his fourth of the season and underlined the faith Cristian Chivu has placed in him.
Speaking to Sport Mediaset after the match, Esposito downplayed the impact of the controversial red card shown to Kalulu.
“Obviously, incidents in football have an effect, it’s normal. We were good at staying focused and believing after the setback at 2-2, and taking the win was very important.”

Despite the tension around the decision, Esposito emphasised his own contribution.
“Personally, I didn’t watch it again, I celebrated and took a shower. I’m not the one to comment on refereeing mistakes; I comment on performances.”
His finish under the Nord curve brought the crowd to its feet. “I’m extremely happy, it’s the best I could have dreamed of on a night like this. I couldn’t ask for more.”
Esposito also reflected on Inter’s season in big matches. “Many other times we deserved more in direct clashes. We just need to do our part every week, and if we continue, we will earn our rewards.”
His maturity and composure at such a young age continue to make him a key asset for Chivu and the Nerazzurri’s Scudetto push.
