Less than a week after the historic signing that officially made San Siro the joint property of Inter and Milan, both clubs have already begun work on the next major step: securing a high-value naming rights agreement for their new stadium.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two clubs are seeking a “major partner capable of bringing in over €20 million per season.”

The naming rights will determine which brand name adorns the façade of the rebuilt Meazza.

Indeed, it represents a crucial new revenue stream for the Milanese giants.

“There are substantial sources of income and others that, while valuable, are accessory,” the report notes.

“Among the primary ones stand out the naming rights.”

Gazzetta explains that the Milan project offers a unique appeal based on three pillars.

The legacy of the iconic Meazza and the prestige of the two clubs.

Finally, the architectural pedigree of Foster + Partners and Manica.

According to the paper, several candidates are being considered, with Generali emerging as an early frontrunner.

The Italian insurance giant “would be considered an appropriate and credible profile” for such a high-profile operation.

While exact figures are yet to be set, Juventus’ 2020 Allianz Stadium agreement, worth around €10 million annually for naming rights, offers a benchmark.

The visibility of two teams and the international profile of the Milanese project is great.

Therefore, estimates for San Siro’s deal could reach between €25 and €30 million per season.

Whether that figure will hold firm will be determined in the coming months.
