Inter Milan and Al-Hilal are continuing negotiations over João Cancelo, with talks now also covering a potential buyout clause, as the two clubs work towards a loan agreement for the Portuguese defender.
The operation is gaining attention in Portugal as well, via FCInterNews.
According to Pedro Almeida, Inter and Al-Hilal are moving closer to a six-month loan deal for João Cancelo.
Under the current framework, Inter would pay roughly half of the player’s remaining salary until the end of the season, a key condition for the Nerazzurri to proceed.
The new development, however, concerns the structure of the deal.

Almeida reports that the clubs are also discussing the inclusion of a purchase option in Inter’s favour.
While this clause has not yet been finalised, it represents a significant step forward in negotiations and signals growing confidence on both sides.
Inter see Cancelo as a high-level solution capable of adding quality and experience to the right flank during the decisive months of the campaign.
At the same time, the club remain cautious about long-term commitments.
Indeed, which explains why any buyout option is still under discussion rather than agreed.
For Al-Hilal, facilitating a temporary exit with shared salary costs would help resolve Cancelo’s situation.
However, without fully relinquishing control of the player.
Talks are ongoing, but the dialogue remains constructive.
As things stand, Inter continue to push.
The Nerazzurri aware that final details on wages and the buyout clause will determine whether the deal can be completed.
