Inter Milan Head Coach Reveals How Brazil Winger Can Improve Ahead Of Serie A Clash Against Pisa | OneFootball

Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu has called for patience with Luis Henrique as the Nerazzurri prepare to face Pisa in Serie A.

Speaking pitchside at San Siro before kick-off, with quotes via FCInterNews, Chivu reflected on the state of the squad, the importance of the match, and the development of the Brazilian winger.

Chivu arrived in the interview area with a light-hearted tone, first addressing his role as a Winter Olympics torchbearer alongside Javier Zanetti.

“I have back pain… but I’m honoured,” he said. “It’s a beautiful and important event, and representing the Olympic spirit means a lot to me. I just hope this back pain passes.”

Turning to the match, Chivu stressed the need to refocus after the Champions League setback against Arsenal.

“We’ve worked on recovering the energy spent in recent weeks, because that’s just as important,” he explained.

“We’ve been doing this from the start: having energy and leaving behind the disappointment of a result that didn’t go how you wanted. These things happen.”

The Inter coach pointed to progress made over the past two months. “We have to take the positives from what we’ve done,” Chivu said.

“This team has grown compared to the start of the season. Now we have to maintain the consistency we’ve shown recently.”

Chivu then addressed Luis Henrique directly, outlining what the winger still needs to improve. “He needs time,” the coach said.

“He has to settle into what it means to play for a big club. We also need to remove some of the labels that were put on him early on.”

The Inter boss defended the Brazilian’s contribution to the team. “He helps us a lot in our build-up play,” Chivu continued.

“He needs time to turn trust and confidence into greater impact in the final 20 metres. Right now, that’s the only thing you can criticise. He’s a committed player who knows how to fit into this team.”

With a favourable fixture on paper, Chivu’s message was clear. Inter must respond on the pitch, and players like Luis Henrique must grow without pressure as the season enters a decisive phase.
