Marco Palestra has moved to cool growing transfer speculation linking him with both Inter Milan and Juventus, insisting his attention is firmly fixed on Cagliari and their Serie A campaign.

Despite Cagliari’s 2-1 defeat against Atalanta, the right wing-back was among the standout performers.

He spoke to DAZN after the match, reflecting on both the challenge and his own development.

The 2003-born wide man stressed that he is feeling increasingly confident, particularly without the ball.

Indeed, explaining that he is “improving a lot defensively” thanks to daily work on the training ground.

He credited head coach Pisacane and his teammates for helping him grow.

He said they “put me in the best conditions to express myself.”

Asked about his exchange with Pisacane at full-time, Palestra smiled and revealed that the coach joked about being asked about him constantly, something he sees as “a positive thing.”

However, the Atalanta-owned player was keen to keep his feet on the ground amid external interest. “I’m totally focused on Cagliari,” he said.

“I’m very happy here and I’m only thinking about achieving safety. Of course, the words are nice, but I don’t know what will happen in the future.”
