Inter Milan have emerged as potential suitors for Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Serie A champions are exploring options to strengthen their attack under Cristian Chivu as they look to defend their title.

Martinelli’s future at the Emirates Stadium is highly uncertain after he was left out of Sunday’s squad for the 3-0 Community Shield victory over Manchester City.

Arsenal have shown a willingness to consider serious offers for Martinelli, who appears to have fallen out of favour after an underwhelming Premier League campaign last season.

He scored just one league goal in 30 matches, although only 11 of them were starts.

However, Martinelli rejected the prospect of a move to the Super Lig, preferring to remain in one of Europe’s top five leagues despite interest from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal.

His stance has opened the door for elite European sides, with Inter Milan and Serie A rivals Roma monitoring his situation.

Arsenal are expected to demand a significant fee for Martinelli and will only approve a sale if they secure a suitable replacement.

Martinelli is under contract until 2027, plus a club option for a further year, putting the Gunners in a strong negotiating position.

With Martinelli eager for regular starting opportunities at a top European club, talks between Inter and Arsenal could intensify as the transfer deadline approaches.

Inter have already signed John Stones and recently agreed a deal for Liverpool’s Curtis Jones, so Martinelli’s arrival would further increase the Premier League contingent at San Siro.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are working on attacking reinforcements in the final days of the window, with Atletico’s Julian Alvarez and Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz high on their shortlist.
