Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi is set to start for Italy against Norway, and it may finally be a chance for him to make an impression after a difficult spell for the Nerazzurri.
The central midfielder has struggled for minutes under Cristian Chivu, slipping behind both Petar Sucic and Piotr Zielinski in the midfield hierarchy.
With Henrikh Mkhitaryan still out, this international window arrives at an important time for him.
Gennaro Gattuso is expected to start Frattesi at San Siro, as per FCInter1908.
It will be his first appearance from the opening whistle under the new Italy coach.
For Frattesi, the national team has often been a place where he performs with confidence, scoring eight goals in 32 senior appearances.
A solid showing against Norway could help him restore some momentum ahead of the derby against AC Milan.

Frattesi’s last start for Italy came under Luciano Spalletti in September.
Since then, both his form and his role at Inter have dipped.
His recent outing in the Champions League against Kairat did not change his status within the squad.
Therefore, he enters this match in need of a reset.
Inter will watch closely.
A convincing performance for Italy would not solve everything.
However, it would put Frattesi back in a stronger position as Chivu evaluates midfield options for a crucial period in the season.
