Piotr Zielinski set his sights on a personal milestone after helping Inter Milan secure a 2-0 win away to Cremonese.
The Polish midfielder scored Inter’s second goal at the Stadio Zini, taking his seasonal tally to four.
Zielinski spoke after the final whistle to DAZN, with quotes via FCInterNews.
Zielinski admitted he has one eye on matching, or even surpassing, his most prolific campaign.
“In my best season at Napoli I scored eight goals, let’s see if I can beat that number. But the important thing is not the goals, it’s the team’s victory.”
The Polish midfielder has emerged from the fringes at the Nerazzurri to become an integral part of the set-up in Lombardy.
His move from Napoli was initially hotly anticipated but he struggled in his first 12 months at Inter.
However, under Cristian Chivu he has improved significantly and underlined that with another goal on Sunday night.

Zielinski also pointed to Inter’s depth as a key factor in their current run.
“Yes, for sure. It’s the strength of this team. Everyone has a lot of quality and looks for chances to show it. I’m happy to be feeling good, I try to give my contribution and we’re waiting for our injured teammates to come back.”
In a separate interview with Sky Sport, via FCInterNews, Zielinski reflected on his strike and the flow of the match.
“At half-time, Audero came to me saying my shot was difficult to catch. Bonazzoli hit a similar one, but Sommer was excellent. We should have scored a few more goals from that type of ball. We wanted the win and we looked for it with our quality.”
He added a note of caution about the second half, where Inter struggled after leading by two goals.
“At 2-0 the opponents pushed and made things difficult with long balls towards Djuric. Tonight we took important points.”
