According to L'Équipe, Inter Milan are working on a deal to sign Udinese centre-back Oumar Solet this summer, with talks progressing but no agreement yet.

The 26-year-old is a year from the end of his contract and could depart before it expires.

Solet’s rise at Udinese has been rapid. Out of contract at RB Salzburg in summer 2024, he had to wait until early 2025 to be registered and play for the club.

Since then he has proved a smart pick-up, becoming the most-used player under Kosta Runjaic alongside Jesper Karlström. The former France under-20 international has also emerged as one of Serie A’s leading centre-backs, whether in a back two or three.

Inter, the Italian champions, admire his consistency and his attacking contribution. He can break lines with his passing or ball carrying, and he has scored 3 Serie A goals from open play.

A fee in the region of €25m to €30m is being discussed between the clubs. A move would offer the former Lyon defender a step up to a Champions League-level club.
