According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Chivu’s men have started to show tactical traits reminiscent of Gasperini’s style in Rome.

Cristian Chivu replaced Simone Inzaghi at the helm in June, vowing to change Inter’s long-term approach on the field.

Despite refusing to alter Inzaghi’s trademark 3-5-2 formation, the 44-year-old has put his own stamp on Inter’s setup.

Inter Milan looked formidable under Simone Inzaghi, but a lack of aggression higher up the pitch was often an issue for the Nerazzurri.

However, Chivu has eradicated Inter’s passive approach off the ball, implementing a more aggressive pressing system.

Furthermore, Inter’s backline is now operating further up the field, maintaining a higher defensive line to put an additional pressure.

Finally, Inter forwards have more freedom under Chivu to take their opponents on and exploit one-on-one situations more frequently.
