Piotr Zielinski was full of praise for Inter Milan’s preparation and mentality after the Nerazzurri ground out a dramatic 2-1 win over Hellas Verona at the Stadio Bentegodi.
The Polish midfielder opened the scoring with a spectacular long-range strike before a 90+3rd-minute own goal from Martin Frese secured all three points for Cristian Chivu’s side.
Speaking to DAZN after the match, via FCInterNews, Zielinski admitted the team had to dig deep after a demanding run of fixtures but stressed that Inter’s resilience once again proved decisive.
“We can’t always score four goals every game,” he said.
“We played well but needed a bit of luck today, and that’s normal when you play every three days. The important thing is to keep following the coach and giving everything.”

The former Napoli midfielder also revealed that his stunning opener was no coincidence, crediting Inter assistant coach Angelo Palombo for his meticulous preparation.
“That move was something we’d worked on in training,” Zielinski explained.
“Palombo studies a lot of football, watches different leagues, and takes small ideas we can use in our system. I have to thank Calhanoglu for the perfect assist: it was like a gift.”
Zielinski’s goal set the tone for a hard-fought victory that puts Inter just one point off of league leaders Napoli.
The win extends Inter’s good form and reinforces the belief that this squad can grind out results even when not at its fluent best.
