According to L'Équipe, Inter Milan have signed goalkeeper Ivan Provedel from Lazio on a three-year deal.

The 32-year-old arrives for a fee of €three million and is contracted until 2029. The move was completed on Wednesday.

He is likely to begin as understudy to Josep Martinez, who is expected to succeed Yann Sommer following his departure on a free.

Inter are the 10th club of Provedel’s career, all in Italy. He developed at Udinese and Chievo Verona.

Provedel leaves Lazio after 146 appearances and, unusually for a goalkeeper, one goal. He scored in the 2023 Champions League against Atlético Madrid, a 1-1 draw on matchday one of the group stage.

He was named Serie A Goalkeeper of the Year in 2022-2023 and has been called up by Italy, though he is yet to be capped.
