Despite not being the club’s first choice, Cristian Chivu replaced Simone Inzaghi in the dugout at the end of last season.

Indeed, after an impressive short stint at Parma, the former Nerazzurri defender returned to Giuseppe Meazza in a coaching role.

Furthermore, the 45-year-old has defied his lack of experience in top-flight management, guiding Inter to impressive results on multiple fronts.

In addition to winning his first four Champions League games as manager, Chivu has led Inter to the top of the Serie A table.

Meanwhile, his former Parma associated, Ange-Yoan Bonny, has helped him achieve those feats.

Bonny has been superb this season, already netting four goals and adding three assists in Serie A.

Moreover, the Frenchman bagged a decisive second goal in last night’s 2-0 home win over Lazio.

Bonny is reluctant to let Inter’s impressive form at the beginning of the season carry him away. Instead, he opts to keep his feet firmly on the ground.

“It’s nice to be first at the break, but the road is still long,” Bonny said after the victory. “We look ahead.

“The coach has brought a great team spirit,” he added. “When you play at San Siro with this sort of atmosphere, it’s easier to give everything.”

Then, Bonny underscored the importance of scoring goals after his prolific start to life at San Siro.

“Goals are important for a forward like me; then I can do other things.

“Today I try to score more goals; the goal came and I’m happy.”
