Inter Milan won’t sign a defender before deadline day, but could move for Udinese’s Oumar Solet in the January transfer window.
This according to Italian outlet Gazzetta.it.
For months, it has seemed all but inevitable that Inter would sign a defender at some point this summer.
The Nerazzurri are currently relying on aging duo Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi at the heart of their back three.
Meanwhile, there have been transfer links away for the likes of Benjamin Pavard and Yann Bisseck.
Furthermore, Inter have sold wingback Nicola Zalewski to Atalanta this summer. Therefore, this means that Carlos Augusto will be required to play on the flank more.
Accordingly, the versatile Brazilian will not be able to deputize for Alessandro Bastoni in defense as often.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, however, Inter have decided not to sign a defender before the summer transfer window closes.
The Nerazzurri feel that the right opportunities are not currently out there.
Therefore, Inter are ready to stick with what they have for at least the first half of the upcoming season.
However, the Gazzetta report, Inter could reassess things in January.
