Since the beginning of the 2025-26 journey, or rather, since the toxic end of last season, the Nerazzurri management has always lived in symbiosis with the coach.
Ever since Cristian Chivu took over, Inter has always been one. Cross-staff-manager meetings at Appiano Gentile are constant, always under the supervision of Oaktree.
The ownership group is driving a new transfer market, in which a major signing will be made.
And Inter, deep down, has never stopped believing that that someone could still be Manu Koné, the Roma centurion they courted for so long just a few months ago.
The summer transfer window will certainly mark a departure from the past. It will feel like a revolution, if only because of the number of players to be replaced: many will leave at the end of their contracts.
There will be younger additions, as per the new era’s approach, but also more powerful and quicker ones.
At this point in the discussion, what went out the window months ago will come back in through the door.
The all-round midfielder, Koné, for whom the Nerazzurri are ready to make a serious investment.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, the €40 million mark could be breached and the €50 million mark could be reached to complete the deal that nearly came close last summer.
The Nerazzurri, in fact, hasn’t invested more than €40 million—€43 million to be precise—since 2020, when Covid hadn’t yet hindered the expansion of the Chinese ownership and Achraf Hakimi arrived to wreak havoc.
The next two months, however, will be a crucial moment for Chivu. Cristian is clinging to survival. At stake is today, the Scudetto that mustn’t be slipped away like his predecessor, and tomorrow, building the team he will lead. On this basis, no one would be more suitable than Koné.
