Inter to face Lazio in Coppa Italia final on 13 May | OneFootball

Inter will face Lazio in the Coppa Italia final at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico on 13 May. According to Football Italia, the venue makes it effectively home territory for the Biancocelesti.

Inter reached the showpiece with a comeback from 2-0 down to beat Como 3-2 at San Siro, after a 0-0 first leg.

Lazio were ahead three times across their tie with Atalanta, only to concede equalisers within minutes, before the contest was settled on penalties. Edoardo Motta saved four in succession, a remarkable contribution from the 21-year-old signed in January as understudy to Ivan Provedel, and thrust into action due to a serious injury.

If scores are level after 90 minutes in the final, the match will go to extra time and potentially penalties.

Lazio have won the competition seven times, most recently in 2019 when they beat Atalanta 2-0, and have also lost three finals. Inter are in their 16th Coppa Italia final, having lifted the trophy nine times, the latest in 2023.

The Nerazzurri have only completed the Double once, as part of the Treble under Jose Mourinho in 2010, when they won the Scudetto, Coppa Italia and Champions League.
