Yann Bisseck is reportedly in a better position to start in Sunday’s Serie A classic between Inter and AC Milan than Francesco Acerbi.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the German defender is likely to get the nod in defense ahead of the Italian veteran.

It had been a rough start to the season for Yann Bisseck, who only started one of Inter’s opening eight games in Serie A.

However, the 24-year-old has since regained Cristian Chivu’s trust.

Indeed, he made back-to-back league starts against Fiorentina and Hellas Verona before returning to the bench against Lazio.

Despite Acerbi’s impressive performance against his former club, Cristian Chivu prefers Bisseck over his 37-year-old teammate.

With Inter set to face Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic, Chivu is aware of the importance of having a fast backline.

Therefore, Bisseck seems like a natural choice, given his athleticism and pace, which will be crucial in containing Milan’s lightning-quick attackers.

As such, the former Aarhus center-back should line up alongside Manuel Akanji and Alessandro Bastoni in the back three.
