Matteo Darmian has been on the sidelines since the tail-end of September when he suffered a hamstring injury against Slavia Prague.

However, the 35-year-old has timed his recovery to perfection, making himself available for the upcoming Milan derby.

With Luis Henrique falling out of favor with Chivu, Darmian’s recovery couldn’t have come at a more opportune moment for Inter.

Still, Denzel Dumfries remains Chivu’s first option on the right wing and will, in all likelihood, start on Sunday.

However, the 29-year-old picked up a minor fitness problem during November’s international break.

Therefore, Dutch boss Ronald Koeman allowed him to return to San Siro and work on his recovery.

If Dumfries fails to shake off the issue in time, Darmian could be thrust straight back into the starting lineup.

Meanwhile, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Raffaele Di Gennaro, and Tomas Palacios remain in the treatment room.
