There are reports Inter are ready to pounce on Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret as a free agent if he does not agree a new contract.
The Nerazzurri have built most of their recent transfer strategy on picking up players out of contract in the summer, preparing the groundwork months earlier.
Among them this season was Piotr Zielinski, who refused to sign a new deal with Napoli and made the move to San Siro.
According to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, Inter are planning another swoop for the Partenopei, this time for goalkeeper Meret.
His current agreement at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona only runs to June 2025 and negotiations have dragged on for some time.
They seem no closer to a resolution and now Inter are said to be lurking in the wings with a proposal of their own.
Current Nerazzurri shot-stopper Yann Sommer turns 36 next month and so the search is on for a long-term replacement.
Napoli paid €26m to sign Meret from Udinese in 2019 after an initial loan experience, but he has also attracted interest from Arsenal.
