At FC Bayern Munich, planning for the future is already in full swing. A landmark decision is also pending for Harry Kane. But although there are signs of agreement, there is no hectic pace in Munich.

The German record champions want to hold talks about a contract extension with the English goalscorer as soon as possible. However, as SPORT1 reports, it is still unclear whether negotiations will begin before or after the upcoming World Cup. Neither those responsible at Säbener Straße nor the 32-year-old himself feel any time pressure at the moment.

According to the report, they are in a strong position internally, despite the recent background noise from Spain, where Barcelona’s presidential candidate Xavier Vilajoana publicly claimed that there was contact with the Bayern striker’s entourage. A statement that was later put into perspective.

According to information from SPORT1, there is no basis for the claim from Catalonia from Munich’s point of view. Behind the scenes, they are remaining calm and concentrating on their own plan in the Kane case. A move to FC Barcelona is therefore currently not an issue for the attacker’s camp. If anything, interest from the Premier League could play a role in the future.

CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen also provided clarity in an interview with Sport Bild. The board boss emphasized: „Harry still has a contract until 2027. The release clause expired at the end of January.“ He also highlighted the good relationship between the club and the player: „We have a fantastic relationship with Harry. He and his family feel very comfortable in Munich.“

Dreesen also made it clear what the future roadmap looks like: „We will talk about the future very calmly before next season. We are extremely happy with him.“

A well-coordinated team at FC Bayern is responsible for the strategic direction. Coach Vincent Kompany is just as involved as Chief Sports Officer Max Eberl and Sports Director Christoph Freund. Dreesen also plays a central role – after all, he was instrumental in Kane’s move to Munich in the summer of 2023.

An additional plus point is the trusting relationship with Kane’s father and brother, who advise him. Munich are therefore not expecting complicated or protracted negotiations. There are no fears of a „hiccup“ like in other personnel matters at the Isar.
