Mikkel Damsgaard scored Denmark's first goal in their 3-0 win over Greece in 2026 World Cup qualification on Monday evening.

It was the Brentford midfielder's first goal for his country since his remarkable free-kick against England in the Euro 2020 semi-final; this time, Damsgaard's curling effort helped secure an important three points to leave Denmark top of Group C.

That victory came after a 0-0 draw against Scotland in their opening game of the group on Friday, in which Damsgaard played 90 minutes.

Bees defender Aaron Hickey also started that game, helping to keep a clean sheet for Steve Clarke's side.

Hickey impressed in Scotland's 2-0 win over Belarus on Monday night, too - they were the first two caps he made for his country in nearly two years, after his return from injury.

Caoimhín Kelleher and Nathan Collins both featured for the Republic of Ireland as they came from 2-0 down to secure a 2-2 draw with Hungary, thanks to a last-minute goal from Adam Idah. That was their first fixture in World Cup qualifying ahead of a trip to Armenia on Tuesday.

Yehor Yarmoliuk started for Ukraine against France on Friday and, despite a 2-0 defeat in Poland, the Bees midfielder impressed in just his second start for the national team. Ukraine go to Baku to take on Azerbaijan on Tuesday.

Also in Group F, Hákon Valdimarsson was an unused substitute as Iceland beat Azerbaijan 5-0 on Friday. It's France v Iceland on Tuesday night.

Kristoffer Ajer played 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet against Finland in a 1-0 friendly win on Thursday. Erling Haaland's penalty secured the victory, ahead of their crucial clash with Group I's second-placed side Italy on Tuesday.

Jordan Henderson was an unused substitute as England beat Andorra 2-0 at Villa Park on Saturday evening. The midfielder could make his 85th cap when the Three Lions take on Serbia on Tuesday.

Dango Ouattara netted a brace as Burkina Faso cruised past Djibouti with a 6-0 win on Friday, as they sit second in their World Cup qualifying group. They face top of Group A, Egypt, on Tuesday night.

Both Frank Onyeka and Benjamin Fredrick started for Nigeria as they beat Rwanda 1-0 on Saturday. The Super Eagles are six points behind South Africa, who lead Group C, before the two sides go head-to-head on Tuesday.

Ji-soo Kim's South Korea Under-22s secured comfortable 5-0 and 7-0 wins against Macau and Laos, respectively, last week. They sit top of Group J after two games in 2026 AFC Under-23 Asian Cup qualifying.

Jayden Meghoma was named in the England U20s starting XI, as they were beaten 1-0 by Italy in a friendly on Friday. Romelle Donovan came off the bench to win his first cap for the Young Lions age group.
