Inter’s Lautaro and Thuram react to Napoli win: ‘Something we were missing last year’ | OneFootball

Inter forwards Lautaro Martínez and Marcus Thuram delivered a clear statement of intent following the Nerazzurri’s thrilling 3-2 comeback victory against Napoli at the San Siro on Saturday evening.

“Thuram told me I’m crazy for celebrating on the pitchside railing, but in the end, he joined me up there today,” Martínez joked.

When asked about Inter’s ambition to defend their domestic dominance, Martínez urged caution: “We take it one game at a time, striving to improve and give everything. I’m very happy, but it’s still a long season.”

The captain also shared a brief tribute to Lionel Messi following his international retirement: “I just want to thank him. I will carry everything he gave us with me for the rest of my life.”

Looking ahead to the rest of the campaign, Thuram echoed his captain’s grounded mindset: “I really wanted to return to being a key player, but above all, I wanted to help the team. We won a crucial match tonight, but the road is long and the league is tough. We just have to focus on one game at a time and keep doing our best.”
