For Ipswich Town, their plans are somewhat uncertain, given that they are fighting for the second automatic promotion place with just four matches to go.

Newcastle United, on the other hand, are much clearer on their situation as they will more than likely face a season out of Europe, although significant summer changes are in the offing.

Despite their polarising situations, both have their eyes on the Danish market, with FC Midtjylland star Franculino Djú a possible target, according to Campo.

As is customary in modern football, English clubs are scouring markets far and wide to acquire upcoming talent for cut-price deals, and Newcastle and Ipswich are no different.

As reported by the Danish outlet, the Magpies and the Tractor Boys sent scouts to the MCH Arena, the home of FC Midtjylland, to watch the club take on Aarhus GF.

While it is not certain whether either club travelled to watch Djú, it is believed he may have been of interest, given that he is one of their leading talents.

These reports were also backed by Bold, who also claim that scouts from Eintracht Frankfurt, Como, HSV, Real Betis, RB Leipzig, Freiburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach were also present.

As well as Djú, it is believed that many other of the prospects from both clubs, including Aral Simsir, Dario Osorio and Tobias Bech could also have been of interest.

What do we know about Franculino Djú?

Djú is a 21-year-old left-footed striker who can also play as a right-winger and currently has a market value of around £19million, according to Transfermarkt.

He signed for Midtjylland from Portuguese giants Benfica on a free transfer in 2023 and has already notched just over 100 appearances for Midtjylland, scoring 55 goals.

This season, the forward bagged 16 goals in 17 Superliga appearances and also has one goal in 14 internationals for Guinea-Bissau.

Djú is the leading marksman in the Danish top tier and is understandably regarded as one of the prized prospects in the division, hence the vast interest in his services.

The forward is outscoring his xG of 11.34 by some margin, as highlighted by Futmob, and ranks highly for touches in the opposition box, shots on target and expected assists.

Given Djú's impressive numbers and potential, it would be unsurprising if a host of clubs chased his services this summer, but for Ipswich, they would surely have to seal promotion to challenge the likes of Newcastle and leading clubs across Europe.
