The Northern Irishman, 40, had two years remaining on his contract but chose to depart. He has been linked with Fulham.

Fulham are without a head coach after former boss Marco Silva joined Benfica.

Across five years in charge, McKenna delivered three promotions, from League One to the Championship in 2022-23, then from the Championship to the Premier League in 2023-24 and 2025-26. Ipswich have not yet named his successor.
