Ipswich Town have won the race to sign Anis Mehmeti from Bristol City
Ipswich Town are set to pay a seven-figure fee to sign playmaker Anis Mehmeti from Bristol City.
According to the Sky Sports Transfer Centre (January 23, 12:08pm), the attacking midfielder had passed his medical following an agreement between the two clubs, and the deal has now been confirmed.
The 25-year-old has proven a key figure for the Robins under Gerhard Struber, but is now set for a switch to their Championship rivals on a permanent basis.
The Albania international has contributed eight goals and six assists from 28 league appearances so far this season, helping Bristol City compete for a play-off place.
However, the expiration of his contract in June led to speculation surrounding his future at Ashton Gate, and he has now exited the club well ahead of the February 2 deadline.

Ipswich were reportedly closing in on the completion of the signing of Mehmeti following an agreement with Bristol City, in a move that has now been confirmed, and it is believed that the Tractor Boys will pay a guaranteed £3 million to their Championship rivals as part of the deal.
Town look to have moved quickly for the creative spark after being linked earlier in the week to his signature, and he is a player that has links to Town's bitter rivals Norwich City, having spent two years with the club's academy before dropping into non-league in 2019.
The 25-year-old was attracting a lot of interest this month, particularly due to the expiration of his contract at the end of the campaign, along with his stellar performances in Struber’s side.
Premier League side Wolves were linked with an interest in Bristol City's number 11, but Ipswich have now won the race to his signature in a bid to bolster their promotion hopes - which will come as an extra boost with Jaden Philogene currently sidelined.

A £3 million deal for Mehmeti could be an exceptional signing for Ipswich, as that is a reasonably low figure for someone of his proven quality in the Championship.
The Albanian international has been impressive for Bristol City, and a player of his calibre could prove pivotal for Town in the race for automatic promotion to the Premier League.
This could be a real coup for the Tractor Boys, and it shows the strength of signing a player who has an expiring contract.
It will be a killer for Bristol City to lose someone of such quality for so little, and replacing him will be a real challenge in the remaining few days of the January window, but they will have cash to spend after receiving a sell-on from Antoine Semenyo's move to Man City too, so Gerhard Struber will need to be backed so that the Robins can push for the play-offs with some new additions in attack.
