Ipswich Town have completed the signing of defender Kenzie Weir on a loan deal from Everton until the end of the season.

The Tractor Girls announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.

The 22-year-old centre-back is a product of the Everton academy system. Weir has already featured for the first team while she has also gained valuable experience out on loan at both Lewes and Glasgow City in recent seasons.

On the international stage, Weir has represented Scotland at various youth levels up to and including Under-23 level.

After joining Ipswich Town on loan, Weir said “The conversations in the lead up to the move have been great and I’m really excited to be here now.

“I love defending and I also think I’m good with the ball at my feet. I’m quite tall as well so hopefully, I can contribute a couple of goals from set-pieces while I’m here.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting the rest of the girls and helping to contribute to a positive second half of the season.”

Weir could go straight into the Ipswich Town squad for Sunday’s Barclays WSL2 fixture against Newcastle United at the Gateshead International Stadium.
