Ipswich Town Star’s Exit Collapses, Club Look Elsewhere | OneFootball

Rakow Czestochowa have opted against signing Ipswich Town star Ali Al-Hamadi after the striker was diagnosed with ‘cardiac problems’, it has been claimed in Poland.

The 24-year-old arrived at Portman Road in January 2024, but never managed to establish himself as a regular figure for the Tractor Boys.

Last season, he spent the campaign on loan at Luton Town, marking his second temporary spell away from Ipswich since joining the club.

The Iraq international, however, struggled to leave a lasting impression in League One, with injuries also restricting his opportunities to secure consistent minutes.

Although Luton held an option to make the move permanent, they ultimately decided against activating the clause, paving the way for Al-Hamadi’s return to Portman Road.

This summer, Rakow Czestochowa emerged as suitors for the striker and reached an agreement with Ipswich over a season-long loan, including an option to make the move permanent.

However, during Al-Hamadi’s medical, the Polish outfit identified ‘cardiac problems’.

As a result, with concerns surrounding the striker’s condition, Rakow Czestochowa ‘didn’t want to risk signing’ Al-Hamadi and subsequently withdrew from the agreement, according to Polish outlet Weszlo.

The development leaves the striker back at Ipswich, with the club now expected to explore alternative solutions for his future in the transfer market.

With two years still remaining on his contract, the Tractor Boys will be keen to find the striker a new destination before the window closes.

Meanwhile, another attacking departure materialised recently as winger Wes Burns completed a permanent move to Leicester City.
