Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Iran World Cup star Ali Gholizadeh can leave Charleroi in January if the price is right. The 26 year-old made three appearances for the Iranian national team in Qatar, providing an assist. He has 29 caps for his country and has scored six goals.
Gholizadeh joined Charleroi from Iranian side Saipa FC back in 2018 for around about 300,000 Euros. He has made 140 appearances for the Zebras in all competitions, scoring 23 goals and providing 26 assists. This season he has only managed one goal and one assist in 18 matches across the league and cup. Gholizadeh is a versatile winger who can play on either flank or in central attacking areas.
Charleroi are currently involved in the relegation battle, with new manager Felice Mazzu joining during the World Cup break. This will be the former Anderlecht head coach’s second stint with the club.
