The future of Konrad Laimer is apparently causing increasing tension at FC Bayern. The Austrian is said to have been irritated by the public statements of honorary president Uli Hoeneß
The contract talks between FC Bayern and Konrad Laimer are apparently becoming increasingly complicated
As reported by Sport BILD, statements made by Uli Hoeneß regarding the salary negotiations have caused internal unrest, according to which the Austrian international is said to have been irritated by the Bayern patron’s public statements
One day before the Champions League second leg against Paris Saint-Germain, Hoeneß emphasized on DAZN that there were clear limits to Laimer’s salary demands. The honorary president also drew a comparison with superstar Harry Kane. The message: Laimer does not have the same sporting and economic status at FC Bayern as the English top scorer. This is said not to have gone down well with the 28-year-old
Parallel to the public statements, talks are continuing in the background about a possible contract extension for the Austrian. Laimer’s current contract in Munich runs until 2027
However, a quick agreement does not seem to be in sight at the moment
As reported by Sport BILD, Laimer’s entourage are of the opinion that the most recently negotiated annual salary of around €15 million is no longer sufficient
According to the report, the desired total package including bonus payments and signing fee is now said to be in the region of the absolute top earners at FC Bayern – i.e. up to around €20 million per year
Such a deal is obviously out of the question for Munich’s management
Despite the complicated negotiations, the Bayern bosses apparently know exactly how valuable Laimer is to the team

Under Vincent Kompany, the Austrian has been one of the most consistent players in the squad this season. His versatility is particularly appreciated at Säbener Straße. Laimer has impressed both as a right-back and in defensive midfield and has recently been one of the absolute perennial favourites
Uli Hoeneß had also recently emphasized how important Laimer was for the team, but at the same time the Bayern patron made it clear that the club would not stray from its financial limits
As a result, the contract poker is currently at a standstill – and there are now many signs of a protracted tug-of-war with an open outcome.
