A Chelsea player has been explaining the details around a 2-0 win away at Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues had to dig in to find all three points against a side who were battling for everything and matching Chelsea up physically and intensively. But The Blues did what they had to do as well and a strong performance from Andrey Santos in the middle made them more than a match for the home side.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea in contact for player who reminds Gianfranco Zola of himself in his playing days!

Santos was asked to play as a defensive midfielder in this game, something a little different for him. He’s been speaking about the positions he likes to play after the game.

Estevao Willian was not involved in this one after being rested from a busy international break for him with Brazil. But he was still on social media after the game praising his team mates for getting the big win.

Jamie Gittens was the one who put the great cross in for Pedro Neto to head in Chelsea’s first and most important goal of the game in the first half.

And he’s been speaking about the win

Gittens explained how happy the squad were to win, especially in the lunchtime kick-off slot, fresh off the back of an international break.

“It was a hard-fought win. To come to Burnley and get three points, is good for us. We feel more confident.

“We expected it to be a really tough game and fighting for the second balls, and we did really well today. To come back and play at 12:30 on Saturday is not easy, and I am happy we got the win.”

Practiced it in training

Gittens has expressed his delight with his assist for the opening goal, explaining that it is something that he has been practising back at Cobham training ground.

“I have been working on that in training, and it came off in the game. I am happy it came off. Pedro got there in the end.

“We are definitely more confident and more comfortable playing with each other. We are going to keep working hard as a team.”
