Speaking to AS Mexico, Brizuela made it known that his goal is to retire at Chivas.

“I would like to retire here,” said the 28-year-old. “But the years go by and you do not know what may happen.”

Brizuela played in 33 LigaMX games between the Apertura and Clausura in the 2018/19 season, scoring four goals and assisting in nine others.
